My job allows me to travel to some pretty amazing places where I get to meet equality awesome people and communities. Kaikoura is no exception, a small surf town smashed by an earthquake and full of beauty.
For photos, Pip and Sam had planned a helicopter to the mountaintop beside a turquoise lake that had recently been formed by the earthquake, along with driving up a 4WD track to a special spot they had picked on the mountainside. The weather was stunning all morning, then almost exactly at the time Pip was due to walk down the isle it changed dramatically, with looming clouds and high winds. Luckily the rain held out until the ceremony was over, with the rain starting just as the ceremony had finished and set in for the rest of the day/evening. This meant all our photo spots were a wash out, so I said to them ‘are you up for this, we are going to brave this weather and get amongst it’. Well Pip and Sam certainly embraced it. They had so much fun and laughed their way through the windy, wet and cold weather, the more it rained and blew the more we laughed as what else can you do. I cannot thank them enough for having such an amazing attitude and just loving every part of their day, despite what mother nature delivered.
