Born and raised on the Sunshine Coast’s Hinterland, I started my photography career in 1999 studying a diploma of photoimaging then going onto complete a bachelor in Photography at Queensland College of Art, with an exchange to Edinburgh College of Art. In 2008 I expanded my visual art practice completing a Masters in Visual Arts at Falmouth University College, Cornwall, UK.
My initial interest in fine art photography has expanded and I now also shoot weddings, fashion and travel.
I learnt photography back when it was all analogue, often laboring all day/s over one image in the darkroom, giving me a respect for all aspects of the medium and process. While I like to keep my eye on industry trends, I believe more in creativity and originality, as these are timeless. My work has a strong focus on nature as this is my happy place.
We brought our dream property in 2018 on the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, and now we are building our dream home, well Dave is. Its 20-acres of stunning bushland, rainforest, views, meadows and creeks. Having grown up nearby I used to play on it as a kid and Dave and I have always dreamed of owning it. We are building beside a creek which you can hear trickling away all year round and the house has stunning 180 views overlooking a gully and meadow, I find it the most relaxing place to be.
In 2019 we welcomed our first child, Milli, and its true what they say, it really is the best thing.
My favourite countries to visit all start with the letter ‘I’ – Iceland, Ireland and Italy.
I am drawn to green landscapes over dry ones, and prefer cold to hot weather.
I love hiking, exploring, spicy vegetarian cooking and music. Nature is my favourite thing along with my family & friends.
I’m a massive massive animal lover. I tend to get obsessed with fat animals so some of my favourite animals are Wombats and Hippos and I believe there is nothing cuter than a puppy (other than milli ;-).
