Born and raised on the Sunshine Coast’s Hinterland, Bonnie started her photography career in 1999 studying a diploma of photoimaging then going onto complete a bachelor in Photography at Queensland College of Art, which gave her the opportunity to study abroad at Edinburgh College of Art. In 2008 Bonnie expanded her visual art practice completing a Masters in Visual Arts at Falmouth University College, Cornwall, UK.
Bonnie went on to teach photography at a local college, which allowed her to remain active in the community’s creative industry and foster new photography talents on the Sunshine Coast. Now focusing full-time as a freelance photographer Bonnie is experienced and interested in many genres of photography and video, including weddings, fashion, fine art and travel. She maintains a visual art practice with regular exhibitions showcasing her abstract photography and video work.
Bonnie learnt photography back when it was all analogue, so getting things right in camera is imperative to the integrity of her work. It’s all about appreciating the very real environment we live in and the magic of the optical instrument at capturing these elements in a unique but very real way.
