Bonnie is a Sunshine Coast based photographer and visual artist.
Born and raised on the Sunshine Coast’s Hinterland, I started my photography career in 1999 studying a diploma of photoimaging then going onto complete a bachelor in Photography at Queensland College of Art, giving me the opportunity to study abroad at Edinburgh College of Art. In 2008 I expanded my visual art practice completing a Masters in Visual Arts at Falmouth University College, Cornwall, UK.
I went on to teach photography at a local college but now focus full-time as a freelance photographer. I am experienced and interested in many genres of photography and video, including weddings, fashion, fine art and travel. I maintain a visual art practice with regular exhibitions showcasing my abstract photography and video work.
I learnt photography back when it was all analogue, often laboring all day/s over one image in the darkroom, giving me a respect for all aspects of the medium and process. With a strong focus on nature and my fine art background, I often find myself on the quirkier side of the industry, a place I am happy to reside. It’s all about appreciating the very real environment we live in and the magic of the optical instrument at capturing these elements in a unique but very real way.
